Our River Cruise Ship
–River Ambassador
There are many ways to
travel, but none compare to the luxury, comfort, and convenience of
a river cruise. It’s like staying in your favorite hotel every night
and you only have to unpack your bags once! You wake up at your
leisure, and head to the dining room for a wonderful breakfast while
watching the glorious views of the passing countryside. The
attention and personal touch provided on a river cruise ship is
truly impressive because you don’t have the large crowds onboard
like a regular cruise. You get to know your fellow passengers and
your crew for a more personal cruise enjoyment.
You sail along the peaceful river waterways rather
than congested highways and you can navigate to inland areas of
countries that big ships can’t go to. You stop in villages, towns
and vineyards along the way and there is no waiting to get on and
off the ship and there is no need to tender into ports. Also, there
is always something interesting around the ship as you disembark
near a castle or a hillside or a village.
River cruising is very
popular right now….come join us to see for yourself why so many
people love it!

6 Koblenz and Rudesheim
Departing in the morning from
Koblenz to Rüdesheim, you’ll sail along one of the most beautiful
sections of the Rhine River, the scenic 40 miles of the upper Middle
Rhine Valley declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. With its
vine-filled slopes, its more than 40 castles strung like pearls
along the riverbank’s ledges, and the famous Lorelei Rock, the gorge
is the perfect embodiment of the romantic Rhine.
Continued on next page…….
Rüdesheim has a long history
dating back to Roman times, and is considered one of the most
charming of the Rhine Valley ports of call. The town is famous for,
among other things, its long avenue of shops and wine bars, the
Drosselgasse.
Enjoy the first part of the
afternoon exploring the town on your own, and then join us for a
visit to the prestigious Castle Vollrads. It is perfectly situated
in the vineyard-covered hills, and is ranked as one of the world’s
top wine estates for its Rheingau Rieslings. The Rheingau region of
Germany is one of the smallest wine growing regions in the country,
yet it is world-renowned for its high quality Riesling. Join us for
a unique wine tasting at the castle. Nestled in the rolling,
vineyard-covered hills of the Rheingau, the 14th century
Schloss Vollrads has a fine interior and pretty courtyard with a
pond and tower. Accompanied by our local wine expert, we will
sample three wines in three different locations on the castle
grounds.
Afterwards we return to
town and you are free to explore before returning to the ship.
