Maybe you have never been to New York City …or maybe you have….either way you’ll love our exciting trip to the ‘The Big Apple”! Our Club Singles Weekend Getaway in New York over the Labor Day long weekend will show you the many great times to be had in New York, the city that never sleeps.
One of our popular trip escorts on many of our international trips, Bill, will be your local host as he lives right near Central Park and he loves showing ’his’ city to visitors. With him, and our local guides, you’ll get the best in sightseeing and enjoying a lot of what this exciting city has to offer. Bill will assist you in planning some of your free and leisure time around our planned tours and activities and he’ll be there to answer questions. He can help with planning dinners, any activities, other tours or getting show tickets either on an individual basis or as a group. We are really lucky to have one of our great escorts provide assistance on a trip that is right in his back yard! Take advantage of his expert assistance on this trip!

He’ll also attempt to get you to the NBC and CBS studios for their morning T.V. shows. Lots more activities planned!

Itinerary
Day 1, Thurs. Sept. 3, New York City
Fly from your hometown to New York City! Welcome to “The Big Apple!” Get settled in at our hotel and then relax or to do some exploring before our casual welcome get together to meet your social host, Bill, this evening. He’ll go over your New York stay, the planned activities arranged for the group, and give you some ideas for things to do in your free time as well as answer any questions.
Bill will also give you a short ‘around our hotel’ orientation walk of local restaurants, etc. and then your evening is at leisure or Bill can coordinate a dinner together to get to know your fellow travelers. Maybe a dinner at a famous New York Deli and then a walk down Broadway to experience the “Bright Lights of Broadway”.
Day 2, Fri. Sept 4, New York City
This morning, for those that want to, an early (!) rise to get to the NBC Today outside studio where they shoot their popular morning show; we can stand in their audience section outside the studios as seen on T.V. every morning; maybe see yourself on T.V., wave to family and friends back home, see the famous co-hosts of the show, and maybe some movie/T.V. stars.
After our early morning NBC adventure, we can visit the Top of the Rock Observation Deck to get a great view of the New York skyline. Then, if there is time Bill will walk you up Fifth Avenue to St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Saks, Bergdorf’s, FAO Schwarz, etc.
Our day continues as we are transferred to lunch at the famous ‘Tavern on the Green’ restaurant in Central Park. Enjoy lunch and then we are off on an Uptown Sightseeing tour.
Our afternoon professional guided tour will be a good overview of some of the many sites you have heard about including Rockefeller Center, Harlem, Central Park (including The Strawberry Fields, etc.), Lincoln Center, Dakota Apartments, Museum Mile and lots more.
The rest of your afternoon and evening are at leisure; Bill will be available to help you decide on any activities, dinner or shows you might want to do as a group or on your own. (L)
Day 3, Sat. Sept 5 New York City
Today, another tour of the city that will show you so much! Our professional local guide will meet the group, along with Bill your social host, at our hotel and take you on a Lower Manhattan Walking tour.
Our walking tour includes Ground Zero, where you will witness the progress of the World Trade Center rebuilding efforts and the base of the new Number One World Trade Center “The Freedom Tower”. You’ll see the NYC Police Memorial at the World Financial Center, a moving tribute to all NYC police officers who have been lost in the line of duty, as well as other touching memorials, both temporary and permanent, to the victims of September 11. Also see moving tributes to September 11 heroes at St. Paul’s Chapel-New York’s only surviving pre-revolutionary church; see Trinity Church where Alexander Hamilton and Robert Fulton are buried. See the Woolworth Building, the world’s tallest building from 1913-1929, walk down Wall Street past the New York Stock Exchange & Federal Hall National Memorial.
After the tour, Bill will have some ideas for you to continue exploring in lower Manhattan if you want to, such as going to The Statute of Liberty and /or Ellis Island.
Your evening is at leisure but Bill will assist you in getting show tickets while you are in town or take you out to some ‘hot spots’!
Day 4, Sun. Sept 6 New York City
This morning we are in for a treat as Bill, a member of the Metropoliatan, will take you to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world's largest and finest museums as well as most important. It is located on the eastern edge of Central Park in Manhattan, across the park from the American Museum of Natural History, and it opened in 1872. The museum has more than 30 one-of-a-kind exhibitions each year and represents a wide range of artists, time periods, and cultures. Its permanent collection has more than two million works of art, from ancient through modern times, and is from every corner of the world. The
Met has art from all periods of history and even people with less interest in art will appreciate the history told by the art. Also take time to visit its’ wonderful gift shop and Bill will take you upstairs to view Central Park from the roof top.
Next, Bill will take you on a walking tour through Central Park, seeing the Great Lawn, Delecorte Theater, Belvedere Castle, sailboat pond, Alice and Hans Christian Anderson statues, the lake and Bow Bridge. Maybe take time to enjoy the park, have some lunch and people watch as a local New Yorker would do on any Sunday.
Your afternoon is free to stay in the park or continue sightseeing around town.
Day 5, Mon. Sept 7 New York City
This morning, for those interested, you may want to go to be in the audience at CBS for their Early Show T.V. program. Bill will have more info on this for you. This is also a free day for shopping or seeing the other areas of New York City such as Little Italy, Soho, Chinatown, etc.
You can also take a hop-on-hop-off bus and see some more of the sights. Still so much to see and do and Bill will assist you with activities and ideas as needed.
Tonight, maybe a farewell dinner at a fun spot coordinated by Bill to end your great weekend!
Day 6, Tues. Sept 8 New York City
It’s really time to go…we head to the airport for our flights home. Bill will be on hand to help coordinate trips to the airport.
Maybe join us on our Washington DC, Niagara Falls & Philadelphia Trip!

Airfare is additional and you can fly into any of New York’s airports. Transfers by shuttle are approximately $20 each way.
Travel/Trip Cancellation insurance is highly recommended. Information is available.
Check in after 4pm/check out before 12 noon.
Price does not include items of a personal nature, airfare, airport transfers, meals, tips to drivers/guides, optional excursions, phone calls, arrival transfer, etc.
Meals-we didn’t include a lot of meals as pre paying for them is very expensive (i.e. breakfast vouchers are around $25). Bill will show you some inexpensive restaurants for breakfast and deli’s etc. for lunches and coordinate some group dinners at reasonable and fun places.
Activity level-very active as to amount of walking.
Subways- we will be using some subways for some of the activities for those that want to join Bill on some of the excursions he has planned for you.
Show tickets-Bill will show you where to purchase ½ priced Broadway show tickets but if you want to guarantee a ticket to a top show you should purchase it as soon as possible.

Your payment for a reservation on this trip constitutes consent and acknowledgement of all the provisions in this Fine Print listed below and in the Singles Travel Company General Terms and Conditions. Please make sure you read both of these important pieces of information and call us with any questions. Please note, there is no guarantee we will get in the audience of the NBC or CBS shows, nor that you will see the hosts or any stars, but the chances are good. Due to circumstances beyond our control, tour activities and actual day-by day activities may have to be rearranged.
Payments: Deposit is $200. Final payment due 60 days prior to trip date. Checks preferred or credit card.
Cancellation Fees and Refunds: All cancellations must be in writing. For any cancellations made 61 days or more before departure, your deposit will be refunded minus a $50 cancellation fee. For cancellations made 60 days and less prior to the trip date-no refund of monies paid. Travel insurance is highly recommended. No show/no refund. No refunds on unused portions of the tour package. After airline tickets are issued, airline cancellations are per the airline’s policy.
