Trip Itinerary

Day 1                       Depart for Europe  
Jet off to the trip of a lifetime awaiting you in Europe!
 
Day 2                       Arrive London  
Check-in to your hotel after 2pm and depending on your arrival time, start exploring until the meeting to meet your fellow travelers at 6pm. Enjoy getting to know your travel group this evening!

Day 3                      London to Amsterdam
Meet your tour manager and see the White Cliffs of Dover as you ferry across the English Channel and then travel through Belgium and into the Netherlands to Amsterdam. (D)

Day 4                      Amsterdam to Rhine Valley  
This morning take time to explore one of Europe's most intriguing cities. Maybe visit Anne Frank's House or the Van Gogh Museum. This afternoon we cross the German border and head for the stunning Rhine Valley. (B,D)

Day 5                      Rhine Valley to Munich  
This morning learn how beersteins are crafted before traveling to the capital of Bavaria, Munich. Explore and see the famous Glockenspiel before we head to a traditional beer hall. (B)

Day 6                      Munich to Austrian Tyrol
Be ‘wowed’ by stunning alpine scenery in route to a cool Tyrolean village. Tonight we stay in the picture postcard paradise of the Austrian Tyrol. (B,D)

Day 7                      Austrian Tyrol to Venice
Today we wind through the astonishing beauty of the Brenner Pass to cross the border into Italy. It's a short boat ride to the historical centre of Venice to see St Mark's Square, the Doge's Palace and the Bridge of Sighs. There's no better way to see Venice than from a gondola so why not join us for a ride before treating yourself to a Venetian evening meal? (B)

Day 8                      Venice to Rome
Past medieval hillside villages and through the Apennine Mountains, we travel south to the fabled Seven Hills of Rome. Do as the Romans do and stroll past the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon and Piazza Navona. Later be delighted by your first glimpse of the Colosseum on our sightseeing tour. (B,D)

Day 9                      Rome
Ancient and modern Rome await your discovery. Why not take a guided tour of the Imperial Forum and walk in the footsteps of Gladiators? In your free time explore the Vatican City and Sistine Chapel, snap up Italian fashions or just watch the world go by with a gelato (or two). (B)

Day 10                      Rome to Florence
Our morning drive leads us to Florence, the Renaissance city set in the beautiful Tuscan Hills. Learn about the Duomo, Giotto's Bell-Tower, Piazza della Signoria and Santa Croce as our local guide walks us through the city. Free time to shop or visit one of the famous museums. (B)

Day 11                      Florence to Lucerne
Our path takes us toward the towering Alps and the vast serene lakes of Switzerland. Be charmed by medieval Lucerne and enjoy shopping for local specialties - watches, chocolate and Swiss army knives. (B,D)
 
Day 12                     Lucerne to Paris
We pass through the lush vineyards of Burgundy and Chablis to the "City of Lights" and you’ll then discover the beauty of fashionable Paris! (B,D)

Day 13                      Paris
While in Paris see some of the most celebrated icons of Europe- the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Nôtre Dame, Arc de Triomphe and the Champs Elysées!  Enjoy your stay in Paris today with your friends from the group! Tonight, why not complete your Parisian experience with a French meal and a famous cabaret? (B)

Day 14                     Paris to Home or Back to London
After breakfast, either take the complimentary transfer to Paris’ Charles de Gaulle Airport (est. arrival at 10 am) OR choose to take a complimentary transfer to central London with your Tour Manager and driver and extend your stay in London. (Est. arrival time in London is 6:30pm today) (B)

**New Year’s and 2011 Trips
There may be a change in pricing for the November, New Year’s 2010 and 2011 trips applied by August or September 2010-book early! Also, there is a slightly modified itinerary change: 1 night in the Austrian Tyrol is replaced by 1 night in Innsbruck.  Ask the reservationist re the complete details.

Travel Insurance-   $169.00. 
Pay for your travel insurance with your deposit & you receive “Any-Reason” insurance (in the form of travel certificates to be used within 2 years with our tour operator) allowing you to cancel for any reason up to 48 hours prior to your trip.  Insurance is highly recommended. Insurance is non refundable and does not cover air arrangements not made by our tour operator.

Airfare is additional.  We can help or you can check online with the different airlines.  Fares are based on availability at time of booking.  You fly into London but may fly home from Paris or London (you’ll need a post night in London- we can book for you).

Transfers are not included on arrival.  You may purchase a $10.00 voucher for the subway (tube) if you are flying into Heathrow.  If arriving into Gatwick in London you can purchase a transfer for $42 one way that gets you to Victoria Station and then onto the hotel.  Your departure from Paris includes a complimentary transfer to the Paris airport (CDG) by 10am-your flight must be departing after twelve noon at least, allowing more time is preferable.  We need your flight schedule as soon as you get it.  If going back to London, you’ll need to stay overnight in London and the transfer to the airport is not included unless you purchase the 2 night post London package which includes a tube (subway) pass.

Price does not  include airfare and taxes, airport transfers as noted above, items of a personal nature-i.e. phone calls, meals not included, alcoholic & other beverages not offered with included meals, transfers, tips to guides & drivers, travel insurance.

See more of London before or after your tour to get over your jetlag or explore before you have to head back home on this unescorted tour extension.  Includes 2 nights accommodations, continental breakfast daily, return tube Heathrow airport transfer on return day to home, open top bus sightseeing tour, London show theater tickets to one of a selection of shows. Fine Print— Discover Europe! 2010/Winter 2011
Your payment for a reservation on this trip constitutes consent and acknowledgement of all the provisions in this Fine Print listed below and in the Singles Travel Company General Terms and Conditions.  Please make sure you read both of these important pieces of information and call us with any questions.  

A non-refundable deposit of $200.00 (plus travel insurance if you want it) is due with your reservation.
Final payment is due 60 days prior to departure date.  Credit cards (Visa or Mastercard) or checks (made payable to Travel Advisors of Los Gatos) are accepted. 
Cancellation Fees and Refunds     All cancellations must be in writing.  Cancellation Fees as follows:  Regardless of when you cancel, there will be a charge from Singles Travel Company of $50 applied to your credit card plus the following cancellation fees: Insurance is non-refundable.

When the percentage cancellation fee is less than the tour deposit, the cancellation fee will equal loss of the deposit. No refunds on unused portions of the tour.  A fee of $30 per transaction may be charged for any alteration or revision made to a reservation.  Cancellation fees also apply to additional accommodations reserved prior to and after the tour booked with the tour operator of the trip.  Due to air carrier guidelines, you may be charged up to a $200 penalty if you cancel your air booked with the tour operator within 120 days of departure. After airline tickets are issued, airline cancellations are per the airline’s policy/ and or the tour operator if purchased through the tour operator and may be non-refundable. 

Travel insurance is highly recommended, please consider the purchase of it carefully
