Itinerary

Day 1               Depart USA                                                                                                          
Fly from your hometown on your overnight flight to Italy!

Day 2                       Arrive Rome  
ItalyMake your way to the hotel, and depending on your flight arrival time, the day is free to explore at leisure. Maybe start your souvenir shopping or try an Italian gelato. Tonight, enjoy dinner with your Tour Manager and fellow travelers. (D)

Day 3                      Rome to Sorrento
 After breakfast we travel south past Naples and Mt. Vesuvius where you’ll have an opportunity to visit the ancient city of Pompeii, then on to cliffside Sorrento with marvellous views of the Bay of Naples. (B)

Day 4                       Sorrento - Isle of Capri
                We cruise today out to the stunning Isle of Capri. Spend the day roaming around the island – maybe see the natural beauty of the Blue Grotto, stroll through the hillside town of Anacapri, explore Marina Piccola, or sip on a cafe al fresco with the locals. (B,D)

Day 5                      Sorrento to Florence
Leaving behind the stunning Sorrento coastline we head north through rural Umbria and Tuscany’s rolling hills, stopping to taste some local wine before our first taste of Renaissance Florence. Tonight, dinner with the group and then maybe join the locals in a club! (B,D)

Day 6                       Florence Sightseeing
 Your day includes a walking tour seeing the Piazza della Signoria, the Duomo and Santa Croce and a chance to shop for leather, gold and silver. Free time then to visit one of the citys’ many museums or galleries in this “city of art”, take time to see the awesome Statue of David, or sit at one of the outdoor cafes and people-watch!  (B)

Day 7                       Florence to La Spezia
 Today we first visit Pisa, home of the famous Leaning Tower, then we enter the unspoiled Cinque Terre Region. This region is eighteen kilometers of sheer rocky coastline in northern Italy with terraced hills and vineyards sloping steeply down to the sea.  It consists of five little villages built into the rocks between the beach and the hills.  We stop at Portovenere before continuing on to the picturesque villages of Riomaggiore and Monterosso. Tonight we stay in La Spezia. (B,D)

Day 8                       La Spezia to Milan
                A day of contrast as we depart from the tranquil western coast of Italy to Milan, the fashion capital of Italy - in the heart of the Po Valley.  See the Duomo, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele ll and La Scala Opera House. After dinner, maybe some nightlife of a big city? (B,D)

Day 9                       Milan to Venice
With Milan behind us we travel east to our afternoon stop in Verona, home to Shakespeare's tragic tale of Romeo and Juliet. Later we head to our hotel close to the stunning city of Venice. (B) 

Day 10                     Venice Sightseeing
 A short boat ride takes us into the historical centre of Venice to see St Mark's Square, the Bridge of Sighs and the Doges' Palace.  We’ll have ample time to wander the bustling streets, see the skill required to create local crafts such as Murano glass, or visit one of the many amazing museums. Maybe a gondola ride and evening meal with your fellow travelers as a perfect end to your Venetian experience? (B)

Day 11                     Venice to Rome
          Past medieval hillside villages and through the mountains, we travel south to the fabled Seven Hills of Rome.  After arrival in Rome, why not do as the Romans do and stroll past the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon and Piazza Navona.  (B,D)

Day 12                     Rome Sightseeing 
Ancient and modern Rome awaits your discovery. It’s a free day to explore with friends from the group. Why not start your day with a guided tour of the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel or explore the Forum of Imperial Rome, search for Gladiators at the Colosseum, shop for stylish Italian fashions or just watch the world go by with a gelato or people watch at the Spanish Steps. (B)

Day 13                    Depart Rome
                Time to swap addresses and email details and say "Arrivederci Roma" as our tour ends after breakfast. (B)

Transfers – $32.00 each way or ($64.00 roundtrip) for transfers to and from the Rome airport. We’ll need your flight schedule.

Travel Insurance-   $169.00. 
Pay for your travel insurance with your deposit & you receive “Any-Reason” insurance (in the form of travel certificates to be used within 2 years with our tour operator) allowing you to cancel for any reason up to 48 hours prior to your trip.  Insurance is highly recommended. Insurance is non refundable and does not cover air arrangements not made by our tour operator.

Price does not include items of a personal nature-i.e. phone calls, meals not included, alcoholic & other beverages not offered with included meals, tips to guides & drivers, travel insurance, and airfare.

Fine Print—Wonderful  Italy 2010 Through March 2011 
Your payment for a reservation on this trip constitutes consent and acknowledgement of all the provisions in this Fine Print listed below and in the Singles Travel Company General Terms and Conditions.  Please make sure you read both of these important pieces of information and call us with any questions.  
A non-refundable deposit of $200.00 (plus travel insurance if you want it) is due with your reservation.
Final payment is due 60 days prior to departure date.  Credit cards (Visa or Mastercard) or checks (made payable to Travel Advisors of Los Gatos) are accepted. 
Cancellation Fees and Refunds     All cancellations must be in writing. Regardless of when you cancel, there will be a charge from Singles Travel Company of $50 applied to your credit card plus the following cancellation fees: Insurance is non-refundable.

When the percentage cancellation fee is less than the tour deposit, the cancellation fee will equal loss of the deposit. No refunds on unused portions of the tour.  A fee of $30 per transaction may be charged for any alteration or revision made to a reservation.  Cancellation fees also apply to additional accommodations reserved prior to and after the tour booked with the tour operator of the trip.  Due to air carrier guidelines, you may be charged up to a $200 penalty if you cancel your air booked with the tour operator within 120 days of departure. After airline tickets are issued, airline cancellations are per the airline’s policy/ and or the tour operator if purchased through the tour operator and may be non-refundable. 
Travel insurance is highly recommended, please consider the purchase of it carefully.
