Itinerary

Sat. June 12                 Arrival in San Jose, Costa Rica
Costa RicaDepart from your hometown for San Jose, Costa Rica to begin your adventure enjoying the excitement and beauty of this wonderful country!  Upon arrival at the airport, pass through customs and look for your transfer respresentative; you’ll be transferred to our hotel right in the center of this exciting city! San Jose is the capital city of Costa Rica, and is by far the largest city in the country. Due to its strategic location, in the geographical heart of the country, it is the ideal place for us to get started on our journey to this country.   
Depending on your flight arrival, the rest of the day is free to start exploring, maybe visit the square near the hotel where the locals meet to enjoy their afternoons or visit the The Gold and Jade Museum.
This evening you’ll meet your fellow travelers at a casual welcome get-together.  Your Costa Rican adventure begins…………!!! 

Our Hotel-1 nightGran Hotel Costa Ricais the only hotel in Costa Rica declared a historical architectural landmark by the Costa Rican government.  It is in one of the best locations in town, right in the heart of the city.  You are surrounded by museums, the cultural square, and the National Theater and lots of exciting things to do.  It has a café, restaurant and bar area for your enjoyment.

Sun. June 13                San Jose/Braulio Carrillo National Park/Arenal/La Fortuna Area
This morning we head to the Sarapiqui area to Hacienda Pozo Azul; as we travel we go through Braulio Carrillo National Park.
Upon arrival meet your guides and choose two adventure tours:
--Canopy ride through zip lines on the tree canopy, last cable with 900 feet that crosses the  Sarapiquí River canyon
Costa Rica--White Water Rafting Class II & III
--Floating Safari
--Horseback riding
After our day of adventure we continue to the La Fortuna area where Arenal Volcano, the most active volcano in Costa Rica, is located. We will be staying here for 3 nights, so get settled in and then the rest of the day will be at leisure for enjoying hotel facilities or explore the area with your guide. (B, L)

Our Hotel-3 nights---Arenal Paraiso Hotel & Spa is a destiny on its own and located right in front of the Arenal Volcano. The beauty of the scenery in this area mixes perfectly with the exuberance of the gardens around the hotel. The contrasts offered go from the canopy tour adrenaline to the serenity and rest of our thermo-mineral water, walking tours to observe up close and safely the volcano; the sensations of our spa, the natural paths and the Costa Rican gastronomy flavors along with the international cuisine.
Rooms include private bathrooms, hot water, conditioned air, phone, cable TV and a small refrigerator.

Mon. June 14               Arenal Area Activities
Morning will be at leisure for enjoying hotel facilities and then this afternoon we’ll head out for a guided trek to Arenal Volcano whichbegins on the active side of the volcano; through the forest over recent lava flows and to the destroyed area now in the process of regeneration. Arenal Volcano is the most active volcano in Costa Rica. Long dormant, Arenal (3,000 years old), erupted in July, 1968 and has been constantly active since, but prior to this, the last eruption is thought to have been around 1,500 AD.
Afterwards we visit Ecotermales Hot Springs where you will enjoy a healthy and relaxing soak at the hot springs, followed by dinner. (B, D)

Tues. June 15                           Arenal Area Activities
After breakfast, another adventure!  We’ll trek through the forest on trails that lead to some of the most spectacular waterfalls in Costa Rica, a place very few people get to experience. See the secrets that lie hidden deep within the canyon including hopefully monkeys, sloths, parrots, and more. (B, L)

Wed. June 16                           Arenal Area to Golf of Papagayo
After a morning check out, we’ll transfer to the hanging bridges, an amazing project located in a wonderful rain forest Private Reserve with 250 hectares of protected land. You can go into the natural paradise along walking trails of three kilometers, passing 15 bridges; six of them are hanging bridges with a spectacular design as a secure and enjoyable adventure to see the forest from the ground.
After the tour we’ll continue to the Golf of Papagayo where we will be staying for 3 nights at the all-inclusive RIU Hotel. Enjoy the evening at our resort. (B, D)

Pools & gardensOur Hotel- 3 nights---Riu Hotel -- ALL INCLUSIVE PROGRAM
This new 4-star resort is located on the seafront in the beautiful region of Guanacaste, on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. As well as a superb range of leisure possibilities, the hotel offers beautiful rooms, entertainment, tours, leisure activities and fine restaurants. Formal dress is a shirt with sleeves for men!
Enjoy relaxation and water sports on the beautiful beaches; diving or fishing in the waters of the Pacific; and eco-tourism in the volcanic areas and natural parks.
Guanacaste is less tropical, humid and exuberant than the rest of the country. Its plains and dry forests sometimes remind one of the African savannah landscape. The interior is the land of 'sabaneros', the local cowboys.

Thur. June 17                           All-Inclusive Stay-Activities!
Full day to enjoy the beach activities as well as explore the area at our all-inclusive resort! (B,L,D)

Fri. June 18                              All-Inclusive Stay-Activities
Today the group will transfer to the Artola Canopy Tour- this is the time to see the forest like you have never seen it before. From the top of these ancestral trees, and by mixing yourself with the incredible life of the tropical forest, your adventure will begin.  There are 840 meters of cable in the forest, from tree to tree, where you will hang as a monkey with harness and safety equipment discovering the forest from a totally different view. This is a 100% adrenaline experience!
We return to our all-inclusive resort- relax by the pool or enjoy a walk along the beach. Tonight enjoy our farewell night at dinner together. (B,L,D)

Sat. June 19                             Homeward Bound
Yes, our adventure is ending and it’s time to say goodbye to Costa Rica and your new fellow adventurers!  Transfer to the Daniel Oduber Liberia International Airport for your flights back home. (B)

Airport Transfers:  Roundtrip airport/hotel transfers are included in the trip price as long as you:
Arrive anytime on the first day of the tour, June 12, into San Jose, Costa Rica.
Depart anytime at the end of the trip, June 19. You’ll be transferred directly from the hotel to the Daniel Oduber Liberia International Airport (LIR) to meet your departure flight (approx 45 minutes).

Travel Insurance:  Travel insurance is highly recommended (!) for many reasons but also because this trip will include adventure activities. Please inquire about insurance when signing up for the trip.  A travel insurance pamplet with all prices and insurance information will be sent to you with your trip invoice receipt for your deposit.  Please review it and call the insurance company directly to sign up.

--A valid passport is required for travel and the expiration date must be at least 6 months beyond your intended stay. Non-U.S. citizens please check with your local consulate for entrance requirements.
--A Costa Rica departure tax (approx $26) is to be paid in cash on your departure from San Jose airport.
--No immunizations are required, but check with your doctor/ travel medicine clinic for any recommendations.
--Activity Level: This is an adventure trip with lots of walking, hiking, and outdoor active activities. Also, the roads in Costa Rica are known to be very bumpy and ‘rustic’ –it does add to the adventure of the trip!
--Age Grouping: the majority of travelers will be in the age range of 20’s and 30’s.
--Price does not include items of a personal nature- i.e. phone calls, laundry, alcoholic & other beverages not offered with included meals, meals not included, tips to guides & drivers, travel insurance, Costa Rican airport departure tax.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY.   Your payment for a reservation on this trip constitutes consent and acknowledgement of all the provisions in this Fine Print listed below & in the Singles Travel Company General Terms & Conditions. Make sure you read both of these important pieces of information & call us with any questions.  Please fax/mail us the Reservation Form found on our website also.
Payments        A deposit of $200.00 is due with your booking.
Final payments due 65 days prior to the trip.  Payment by credit card or check (payable to Travel Advisors).
Cancellation Fee and Refunds     All cancellations must be in writing. Cancellations 91 days or more prior to the trip will receive a full refund of your deposit, less a $50 cancellation fee applied to your credit card.  Any cancellations within 90 days of departure, no refund will be provided.  No refund on unused portions of the trip. After airline tickets are issued, airline cancellation penalties are per the airline’s policy and are usually no refund, but may be changeable with a fee.
Travel/Trip Cancellation insurance is highly recommended
